De vier pijlers

De vier pijlers van Jenaplanonderwijs: gesprek, spel, werk en viering


De vier pijlers van het Jenaplanonderwijs vormen een leidraad voor de dag en de week en wisselen elkaar af. Deze afwisseling geeft duidelijkheid en rust en zorgt voor evenwicht tussen geestelijke en lichamelijke activiteiten.

  • Samen spreken: op de Regenboog hebben kinderen een duidelijke stem. Spreken en luisteren horen bij elkaar. Op een Jenaplanschool worden er vaak kringgesprekken gehouden. Tijdens deze gesprekken leren de kinderen naar elkaar te luisteren en hun mening te verwoorden. De schooldag begint in elke stamgroep met een kring. Er zijn veel soorten kringen op de Regenboog, bijvoorbeeld de vertelkring, de leeskring, de filosofiekring en de themakring.
  • Samen spelen: spelen is leren! Kinderen leren veel door te spelen of na te spelen. Het is een ontspannen manier van leren voor jonge en oudere kinderen. Door middel van spel kan veel geoefend worden en de creativiteit worden ontwikkeld. Op de Regenboog is veel ruimte om vrij te spelen. Er wordt ook ruimte gemaakt voor geleid spel, bijvoorbeeld tijdens toneel- of dramalessen.
  • Samen werken: kinderen worden gestimuleerd om zelf verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor het leren. Veel werkjes zijn verplicht, omdat het gewoon moet. Bij de uitvoering van het werk is er echter veel keuzevrijheid. Op deze manier leren kinderen zelf te bepalen hoe het werk in bepaalde situaties het beste kan worden gedaan. Zo kan er bijvoorbeeld voor worden gekozen om zelfstandig te werken of samen met anderen. Ook leren de kinderen zelf hun werk te plannen.
  • Samen vieren: met vieren bedoelen we het samen beleven van lief en leed. Dit kan in groot verband, met alle kinderen (en ouders) van de school, maar ook in kleiner verband met enkele stamgroepen samen of binnen de eigen stamgroep. Kinderen kunnen tijdens een viering aan elkaar presenteren waar ze de afgelopen periode mee bezig zijn geweest, bijvoorbeeld door middel van zelfgemaakte gedichten, liedjes, toneelstukjes en verhalen.
